FRIENDS OF LEBANON
PILGRIMAGE TO LEBANON

September 17 – 25, 2022

Our pilgrimage to this “Land of Ancient Faith” will be full of spiritual insight and enriching encounters. We will travel to the Qadisha Valley, the heart of eastern Christian monasticism, and Bkerké, the “Vatican” of Lebanon and the site of the Maronite Patriarchal See. We will witness the extraordinary devotion of the Lebanese Christians to their saints, including St. Charbel, whose monastery we will visit and at whose tomb we will pray.

We see this pilgrimage as a concrete expression of our solidarity with the Lebanese people, who have undergone countless challenges over the recent decades. The two main aspects of the pilgrimage are:

1) to visit the holy places of Lebanon and to pray there for Lebanon and for any other personal intentions, as we do on all of our pilgrimages

2) to have several high-level meetings with officials of the Maronite Catholic Church and of the Orthodox Churches in Lebanon, as well as with officials in the government and diplomatic, cultural and business communities

During this trip, you will be part of a small delegation of Urbi et Orbi Communications, which is the nonprofit that funds Unitas: Friends of Lebanon and its various projects.  If you would like to learn more about this pilgrimage, please contact Deborah Tomlinson at  +1.202.536.4555 or email [email protected]
